Thomas Aquinas is a master of medieval scholasticism.He insisted on the traditional Christian philosophy Augustinism,maintaining authority doctrine and theology of dominance,and also conform to the trend of The times,to modify the Scholaticism;Moreover,he took on the theoretical methods and thoughts of Aristotle's philosophy,to serve for the Christian philosophy,hence to create a more reasonable scholasticism.Toward this end,he built a large and comprehensive theological philosophy system.In this paper,on the basis of the Summa Theologica,and discussing around the charity in this paper.The charity is a kind of special friendship in god.It's a noble,unconditional love.The charity makes love as the main behavior,But love is based on and is higher than the will of good love,since it is a mediator without the good,directly to God as the main object.The object of the charity also includes the neighbors,our bodies,and our enemies and sinners,moreover it also suggests that we have love them in order.The charity is the mother of virtue,It leads all the virtues of man to the perfect God,ruptures between Aristotle's moral rationality and moral virtue were reconciled in Aquinas's charity.He also innovates on Augustin's theological virtue,that is,Faith,Hope and love.Faith and Hope only rely on the charity will be perfect virtue.With the development of natural science in the 17th century,in order to conform to the trend of the development of the times,the new Thomasism,analyzed the Thomasism matter-of-factly,accordingly,the Thomasism also carried out a more rational transformation.Based on Aristotle's view of friendship and the virtue theory of Augustine,Aquinas unifying rationality and faith together,to explain his own love charity theory.His theory provides the most perfect exposition of the theological development and ideological system construction of the Middle Ages,Futhermore,It has carried on the real dialogue to philosophy and theology.
