As multicultural communication becomes more frequent, bilingualism has become a common phenomenon. In our multi-ethnic country, minorities not only learn or master their own national language, but also learn or master Chinese to varying degrees. In order to understand the nature of the memory and the way of the memory representation in minority bilinguals, this study takes 30 Tibetan bilingual college students as subjects, using DRM paradigm, deeply discussing the cross-language false memory and forgetting effect among Tibetan-Chinese bilinguals. This study designed two experiments, experiment 1 using 2(processing mode: literal processing, semantic processing)× 2(learning-test language consistency: consistent, inconsistent)× 3(project type: learned words, critical lures, and unrelated words)three factor mixed design, discuss when under the condition of emphasizing on different processing methods(literally processing and semantic processing),the false memory phenomenon of within-language and cross-language among Tibetan-Chinese bilinguals.Among them, the processing mode is the between-subject variable, the other two independent variables are within-subject variables, the dependent variables are the correct recognition rate of learned words and the false recognition rates of critical lures and unrelated words.Experiment 2 using 3(interval time: 0 hour,0.5 hour,1 hour)× 3(project type: learned words, critical lures, unrelated words)× 2(processing mode: literal processing, semantic processing)three factors mixed experiment design,to explore when under the condition of emphasizing on different processing methods(literally processing and semantic processing)the forget effect of within-language and cross-language false memory among Tibetan-Chinese bilinguals. The processing mode is the between-subject variable, the rest independent variables are within-subject variables, the dependent variables are the correct recognition rate of learned words and the false recognition rates of critical lures and unrelated words. This study draws the following conclusions:(1)There is cross-language false memory among Tibetan-Chinese bilinguals, that is to say, even the learning and test language are different, the false recognition of critical lures still appears among Tibetan-Chinese bilinguals.(2)The false recognition of critical lures in within-language(Tibetan-Tibetan,Chinese-Chinese)is more than cross-language(Tibetan-Chinese,Chinese-Tibetan).(3)When the learning and test language are consistent, the false recognition of critical lures and the correct recognition of learned words in Chinese are more than its in Tibetan; When the learning and test language are inconsistent, there are more correct recognition of learned words and less false recognition of critical lures in the language Tibetan-Chinese than Chinese-Tibetan.The memory representation in Tibetan-Chinese bilinguals is accord with Modified Hierarchical Model.(4)The false recognition rate of critical lures in semantic processing is significantly higher than that of literal processing under both within-language and cross-language.(5)As the time interval increases(0 hour,0.5 hour,1 hour),the correct recognition rate of the learned words is decreasing, but not significant, and the false recognition rate of the critical lures significantly increased.(6)Different processing methods(literal processing, semantic processing)have no significant impact on the forgetting effect of false memory.
