Comparing with Chinese listening and speaking,Chinese characters recognition has always been the difficulty of Thai learners.Plenty of scholars,teachers and learners do researches for it,believing that learning strategy of Chinese characters is the key for Thai learners to master Chinese characters.And effective learning strategy of Chinese characters can help learners to recognize Chinese characters on the basis of understanding the meanings Chinese characters.After reading plenty of literatures,the author selected the "glyph recognition strategy","associative memory strategy" and "generalizations strategy",and the 3 strategies are said to be " the best strategies of learning Chinese characters".By using the 3 strategies,the author did an 2-month experiment of Chinese characters recognition guided by strategies for 3 students of intermediate to advanced levels,trying to explore the effect of "the best learning strategies of learning Chinese characters" in practical applications and to observe and to record the process of Chinese character recognition of foreign students.Basing on the 6 experiments of Chinese character recognitions,the rule of Thai students’ Chinese learning recognition is concluded and the suggestions of Chinese characters learning and Chinese characters teaching can be made from the 2 angles of learners and teachers.The study found that learners in Thailand is the most effective strategy for associative memory strategy,followed by the shape identification strategy,and summarizes the strategies during the experiment by using at least,Thailand learners are more difficult to grasp summed up the strategy,need to use under the guidance of teachers.Based on the experimental results,it is suggested that Thailand learners use strategies to learn Chinese characters more effectively,and individual learners should find the most suitable learning strategies for them.Chinese teachers should consciously guide students to use learning strategies and improve school efficiency.
