Digital media has been existed in our daily life.The digital media industry has become an important pillar to support the national economic development.Outline of the National Mid-and-Long-Term Science and Technology Developing Plan which has been listed "digital media" as a key development area,but also put forward higher requirements for digital media students.During the past years digital media art in colleges and universities has become a relatively complete curriculum system,"Introduction to Digital Media Art" is a basic theory course for digital media art students,which can help students to understand the professional development and research focus,"Introduction to Digital Media Art" also can help students to study professional skills better."Introduction to Digital Media Art" is divided into six chapters,each chapter covers the virtual reality technology,and virtual reality is the most innovative field,which has become the focus for students to study and research.Therefore,the exploration of Virtual reality used in the "Introduction to Digital Media Art" classroom is an innovative and practical subject.Virtual reality refers to the use of computer graphics technology,computer simulation technology,sensor technology,display technology and other scientific or technological production,which can play in the TV,PC,mobile phone or other electronic equipment.Virtual reality has immersion,interaction and imagination three basic characteristics.Virtual reality can create a virtual environment on the multidimensional information space,and through the virtual reality students can produce immersive feeling.Interacting with the environment can inspire students' cogitation.Beijing courtyard is the best example for "technology" and "art" buildings.Beijing courtyard is a building full of technical and artistic.Analysis the Beijing courtyard's various components,to explore its technical and artistic expression.To understand how does the "technical" and "artistic" to be combined in the Beijing courtyard.So that students are proud of traditional architecture.Examine whether the student has completed the three goals.Finally,compared the use of VR for teaching and traditional teaching methods,get the better way.The virtual reality of "Beijing courtyard" based on sensory,interactive and cognitive experiences.The design for virtual reality focuses on color matching and perspective conversion,which restored the real scene of the Beijing courtyard vividly.The user can convert the viewing angle by switching the scene,completed the tour in Beijing courtyard.With the help of touching mobile phone screen the sense of interaction enhanced.Scale and a questionnaire designed to evaluate students' feeling.From the point of view,virtual reality applied to the classroom improving the students' senses in the interaction and cognition.Besides,compared to traditional teaching methods,virtual reality help students feel more novelty,improve the effectiveness of teaching,Finally,Interview with students we can see that virtual reality increase students' interest in learning and complete the goal quickly.Through this study,virtual reality used in classroom not only enrich the content of teaching materials,also help students to understand the professional development of the forefront of knowledge.Besides,this study can provide a new way of teaching the “Introduction to Digital Media Art “course.
