With the rise of the fantasy literature and readers' demands for the fantasy literary work, the development of Chinese translation of the fantasy literature has been accelerated. However, the study of the translation theory that guides the translation of the fantasy literature is not enough. Moreover, the fantasy literature breaks away from the real world, that means it is based on the imaginary world. Therefore, the style of the fantasy literature makes it more difficult for the translator to translate the fantasy literature. One of challenges that the translator meets is how to translate these things which are of fantasy features into something that can be accepted by the target language reader. This translation report is based on the chapter one to chapter four of The Queen's Poisoner.Under the guidance of domestication and foreignization, the translator tries to analyze what needs to be paid attention to when translators translate the fantasy literary work. The process of the translation proves that, during the translation of the fantasy literary work, the absolute domestication or the absolute foreignization does not exist.Because domestication is good for the target reader to better understand the original text and appreciate it.And foreignization maintains cultural differences which is good for the target language reader to feel an exotic atmosphere. |
