The Public English Teaching in higher vocational colleges is faced with the problems like: out-of-date teaching method,lacking the combination of teaching and practicing,etc.The English experience teaching reform based on post professional abilities is suitable for the development of the future work.With the development of the modern society,English is more and more widely used in all different industries.But there is a great gap between the Public English Teaching and the practical needs from different industries in the aspects of curriculum provison,teaching resources,teaching modes,teaching objectives and teachers’ qualifications.This resulted in the discrepancy between the students’ practical English abilities and the needed English abilities of future post requirements.The feature of the English experience teaching mode based on post professional abilities lies in making the students actively take part in the daily teaching and becoming the center of the learning,by simulating real workplace scenes.The experience learning in simulated real workplace scenes should be based on different posts of different majors.It is helpful for the students to learn actively the practical English needed in their future work.Thus the students’ practical English abilities can be greatly improved.In order to study the teaching design,implementation and evaluation of experience teaching based on post professional abilities,the writer used the method of educational experiment,choosing two classes majoring in fashion design from the school of Art and Design as the research sample(108 students in total),to carry on a comparative research.In class one(experimental class),the English experience teaching mode is adopted,while in class two(control class),the traditional English teaching mode is used.This experiment aims to compare the teaching effects between the two classes by adopting different teaching modes.In the experimental class,experience teaching is mainly carried out through the "basic English + professional English" knowldege learning.The implementation of the experiment is conducted in their freshman year.The comparison of the learning effects from the two classes suggests that there is a great defference in the students’ practical English abilities between the experiment class and the control class.The abilities of the students in the experimental class have been greatly improved.The study shows that the English experience teaching mode based on post professional abilities is helpful in improving students’ English learning efficiency.When trying this mode of English teaching,teachers should pay attention to the following aspects: 1.The teaching design should be student-centered.2.The simulation of the workplace scenes should be designed as the real workplace situations.3.The teacher’s leading role should run through the whole activity.
