| 《Back to 1942》mainly described a famine tragedy happened in Henan in 1942,and which was forgotten actually though almost 3 billion people were starving in Henan.This essay will make a detail analysis of《Back to 1942》in three chapters,in the way of narrative theory,psychological theory and historical theory,by close reading,with the reaching support of narratology: The first chapter combing and comparing hunger writing in New Realistic Novels,the uniqueness of “hunger narration” stands out.The second part mainly tells the hunger and how Liu Zhenyun wrote this book,and analyze the relation between hunger narration and the process of writing.The third part illustrates the hunger narration in this novel.Wherein “hunger memory” and “ forgotten hunger” in the novel are combed,so we can totally understand the starvation and know the evolvement course of the starvation.The third part also describes the degeneration and alienation of human nature,and concludes such absurdity is result of the depressed starvation,the fear of mass death and philosophy of life and death under hunger.The second chapter investigates the narrative strategies and narrative languages.In view of folk perspective narrative,double spatial contrast narration,irony narration and Henan humorous language narration,the narrative artistic characteristics and the significance of the novel are discussed.The third chapter concludes the value of narration in the novel.The historical value of the novel lies in Awaken the memory of famine and while its humanistic value rests with the concern and deep compassion of groups living at the bottom of the society,and its literature value is attributed to evacuation of the cause of alienation of human nature under survival context. |
