On The Narrative Strategy Of Liu Zhenyun's Novel

Liu Zhenyun’s artistic style is cold and sober,reflective,this is a unique realism in the contemporary literary world.This is related to Liu Zhenyun’s diverse and pluralistic artistic methods-a unique narrative strategy,which are "irony","repetition",and "screwing up" narrative strategies.The term "screwing up" is Liu Zhenyun’s originality,while "irony" and "repetition" are concepts commonly used in academic circles.This paper borrows these three central words and uses them as an outline to structure the text.The paper is divided into three parts.Chapter 1,"Irony" : Development in Everyday Narratives.Irony is a common narrative strategy in Liu Zhenyun’s early years.Later on,Liu Zhenyun’s critical edge becomes more and more restrained,which is related to his attitude and changes towards the world and reality.He adopts a distant posture,that is,he uses irony to deal with "reality" artistically.This chapter discusses three aspects: "The Alienation of Nobody," "The Absurdity of History," and "The Loneliness of Life," in an attempt to grasp Liu Zhenyun’s unique exploration of the meaning of individual existence.Chapter 2,"Repetition" : A Unique Perspective on Historical Movements Repetition is Liu Zhenyun’s prominent narrative strategy from the 1990 s to the new century.This chapter examines two forms of repetitive narrative in Liu Zhenyun’s fiction: first,repetition in details,on which the author focuses on the repetition of imagery;second,the repetition phenomenon in the novel is explored from a more macroscopic perspective,in terms of events,plot,and structure.In the final analysis,it reflects a certain profound historical consciousness of Liu Zhenyun.The third chapter,"Screwed Up" : another kind of speech about the world.After the new century,Liu Zhenyun discovers the "screwed-up" nature of people’s daily life,and thus he opens up a new path of exploration.In his texts,"screwed up" is broadly reflected in the "screwed up" language of the characters and the "screwed up" logic of the narrative.The "screwing up" is also a certain kind of paradox,the opposite of the way,that is,in the "screwing up" of the narrative creation,one can experience Liu Zhenyun’s certain value concept-what he calls "reason".
