A Contrastive Study Of Chinese And English Refusing Words In Cross-cultural Communication

Where some people exist where there will be communication,in the process of communication often accompanied by refusal.Due to different cultural backgrounds,Chinese and English-speaking countries often have a big differences when they refuse.In cross-cultural communication,it is not uncommon for refusing to lead people to make differences or misunderstandings.Therefore,we should pay attention to the status and role of Chinese and English refusal in the cross-cultural communication,and studying the difference.In cross-cultural communication,we have to use the refusal strategy based on the cultural background of the communicative object,and to be polite and decent when it is rejected.This can increase the chance of successful communication.This paper mainly includes five parts: The introduction mainly introduces the background of the topic,the meaning of the topic,the theoretical basis,the research status and research content and research methods.The first chapter mainly compares the similarities and differences between the Chinese and English refusal words and finds out that there are similarities between the refusal mode,the principle of politeness and the non-verbal refusal strategy.But there is a difference in the denial of strategy and the treatment of power.The second chapter mainly analyzes the pragmatic errors in the use of Chinese refusal in English-speaking people by studying literature and comparative analysis,The tapes of mistakes include pragmatic errors in direct refusal,pragmatic errors in indirect refusal and errors in the use of native language.The third chapter mainly based on the previous analysis,put forward a reasonable rejection strategy,including speech strategies and nonverbal strategies.Finally,the content of the full text is summarized and the shortcomings of this paper are put forward.
