| The book which is named Liao-Fan’s Four Lessons was completed in Ming Dynasyt.Although the book is short,but which contains a very rich connotation,is typical of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism’s integration.The author of the book is Yuan Huang.He is an outstanding thinker of the Ming Dynasty and has very high academic attainments in Buddhism,Confucianism,Medicine,Education,Military,Yiology,etc.Therefore,in the background of the cultural integration of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism in the Ming Dynasty,he can absorb the ideological system of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism and wrote the book which is respected by many scholars.Under the premise of comprehensive data collection,this paper makes full use of the results of the predecessors’ research,and trys to systematically study the theory of karma,the theory of mind-nature,and the theory of practice and dissolution,and traces the thoughts which are absorped from Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism to analyze the features of the unity of the three religions.Liao-Fan’s Four Lessons is divided into four chapters :Learn to creat destiny,Ways to reform,The way to cultivate kindness and The benefit of the virtue of humility.Although the four chapters are written independently,they have the same principle to emphasizes the destiny which is created by ourselves and retribution of good and evil.And it derives the approach of pursuing good fortunes and avoiding disasters—fate is in our hands,and as long as we reform our faults to cultivate kindness,we can change the fate and receive goodness.The first chapter of this paper discusses the theory of the retribution of good and evil,which is the theoretical basis of Learn to creat destiny.Therefore,this part discusses the differences between the theory of karma and predestination with Yuan Huang how to developed the theory of predestination to the theory of karma of Buddhism as a main line.Secondly,Yuan Liaofan believes that doing good must firstly manage the mind,which is the theoretical foundation of the second chapter of theory of mind-nature.This part first analyzes the concept of mind and nature of Buddhism,and then discusses how Yuan Huang absorb Mencius’ s theory of human nature on the basis of Buddhism’s theory of mind-nature.The third chapter of this paper discusses the theory of practice and dissolution which is the ultimate purpose of the theory of karma and theory of mindnature.This part first explores the theory of Buddhist practice,and then summarizes the the theory of practice which is absorped from Confucianism and Taoism.The last part analysises of the rich meaning of the enlightenment to today’s society.This part which is based on the theory of karma,theory of mind-nature,and and the theory of practice and dissolution discusses the positive effects of these three aspects on the lack of social morality and the fall of human relations,etc.which are based on the theory of karma,theory of mind-nature,and and the theory of practice and dissolution. |
