Research Of Chinese Child Bride

Child bride is one of the female groups which deeply suffer from the pressure of feudal marriage in traditional Chinese society.Originated from Northern Song Dynasty,child bride has finally become a common form of marriage in modern times with the development of hundreds of years.In some areas,it even replaced the traditional betrothal marriage and became the mainstream marriage custom.By collecting and organizing the various historical data,the author found child bride is particularly prevalent in modern Jiangxi,Fujian,Guangdong and Taiwan.Focused on modern Jiangxi,the author mainly uses the literature methodology to introduce the basic situation of child bride and reveal the cause of prevalence and their family life.In addition,as the "red cradle",Jiangxi retained lots of active traces about the "red child brides".For example,14 out of 30 women are child brides who joined the Long March in the Central Red Army,which provides a convenience for us to study.The lack of the historical materials is the bottleneck of historical research,and the same situation is also reflected in the child bride.As a woman of low social status,child bride owns narrow range of life and weak influence in society,so the historical record is quite limited.Or the local chroniclers keep the motivation of beautifying the morals and manners,the child bride is rarely recorded or not.Therefore,the author adopt the interdisciplinary approach and make full use of the social survey materials to generate the quantitative data for the readers to grasp the full text.Finally,this paper also studied the attitude and management measures to the child bride of three governments since modern times,namely,the late Qing Dynasty,the Nanjing National Government and the Central Soviet Government.Child bride is the product of the malformed marriage custom,which is against the evolution trend of the modern jurisprudence.Constrained by all aspects of obsolete factors,the late Qing Dynasty and the Nanjing National Government's countermeasures are not desirable,and the former one even holds the encouraging attitude to this matter.Be realistic,for the first time in Chinese history,the revolutionary base of CCP cleaned the backward custom thoroughly in the class consciousness and the actual administration.Child bride has realized their dreams of the liberty and marital autonomy.In turn,a batch of "red child brides" represented by Kang Keqing also made an indelible contribution to the victory of revolution.Enriching the research of Chinese child bride is helpful to further build the foundation of Chinese marriage history and woman history.It also provides beneficial supplement material and assistant addition for the history of CCP,folk custom,family,human rights,law,etc.
