Because of the elaboration of market demand,MTI(Master of Translating and Interpreting)has attached more importance to practical text translation. However, the increasingly demanding requirement for MTI students underlines the significance of literary text translation which now rarely appears in students' daily practice because of market demand and its difficulty. This is a project report on the translation of Jewish Days and Nights and Jane Eyre:The Temptations of a Motherless Woman respectively from A Human Eye:Essays on Art in Society and On Lies,Secrets and Silence which are written by a famous contemporary American female writer Adrienne Rich. This report firstly introduces the related information of the original text and main work of this translation process. In the key chapter "Case Studies",the author analyzes some representative sentences and chooses corresponding solutions to solve the problems encountered in the translation process under the guidance of Skopos Theory. After finishing this report, the author has learned some lessons and also got some inspirations.Firstly, the translation of English essays requires a good command of Chinese,so mother tongue learning is of paramount significance.Secondly, reading through the whole text and grasping enough background information are conducive to reducing misunderstanding.Thirdly, during the translation process, the translator should pay attention to using both translation theories and the Internet to support the project report.Last, the translators should communicate more with other people and learn from each other.
