| According to his own personal experience in Mongolia grassland,Jiang Rong created Wolf Totem which is not only a long semi-autobiographical novel,but also an outstanding animal novel.It obtained much concern and praise from readers and scholars at that time.In this book,it not only depicts the beautiful grasslands,the magic of the prairie wolves,fat grassland sheep,and a series of wonderful grassland stories between the wolves and human beings,but also shows complicated ecological relationships between nature and human,human and human.And it was praised as the only depiction about grassland wolves in the world.Ecocriticism is a kind of criticism which was spread from Britain and America in the 1990s.It is a theory which pays attention to the combination between ecological theories and literature works,focusing on ecology,human and literature.This article studies some certain culture-loaded words and ecological phenomena in the English version of Wolf Totem from the perspective of ecocriticism.On the one hand,it shows an analysis of the three important ecological systems from the viewing point of ecocriticism.They are natural ecosystem,social ecosystem and cultural ecosystem.on the other hand,it mainly talks about the translator how to adopt different translation strategies and techniques to deal with ecological phenomena and ecological culture-loaded words in Wolf Totem.This thesis will list a large number of relevant examples for research and explore the inner reasons and deep meanings about how the translator uses these different methods and strategies.And the author of this thesis will give some suggestions according to some improper translation,so that it can provide the modern Chinese literature translation with reference resources in the future.In the meantime,this study raises the author’s deep thinking about how to handle the ecological consciousness from the perspective of the individual,nation,society,country and the international association. |
