City And People In Xu Zechen’s Novels

For a long time,most academic researches have been concerned with Flower Street and Beijing two big subjects series,paying attention to different theme connotation and artistic features between them,however,many ignored the internal relation.In close reading of the text we found that in Mr.Xu’s two big literary map,there is a huge narrative "city and people".On the one hand,he observes humble hardships in life with the attitude of equality,excavating from a mediocre one of ordinary and great,identifing with ordinary people’s struggle and pursuit,showing a humanitarian writer for human life care and spiritual concern.On the other hand,he leads to a secluded spot into dazzling city,exploring the present situation and the condition of city,to reflect the advantages and disadvantages of urbanization,which shows a social public’s attention to the development of the nation.This article is divided into three parts,in general,mainly researches Xu’s"Beijing" novels and "Flower street" novels taking the relationship of the city and the people as the breakthrough point,which means to make a detailed interpretation of the relationship between human and the city,presentation,deep meaning interpretation,to provide a new perspective in Xu’s novel research.In particular,part one simply combs through the definition of "city" in xu’s novel,and the relationship between city and people.In Xu’s novel,"city" is not administrative division,but the spirit of the apartment,it includes the fictional town "Flower street" and the reality of national capital city of "Beijing",through the native people in the districts of multiple suffering,the collective disillusionment of stranger in Beijing,the author shows the complex relation between people and city,builds what he thought about the people and the city of China.Part two analyzes the unique presentation modes of the relationships between the city and the people,trying to provide an effective way to explore the deep implication of his novels.Xu advocates "form is content" writing view,keens on "transitively" showing the world and expressing the heart,through images by era and structure of defamiliarization,he gently expresses his thinking about the existing way of euphemism,the path of urban development.Part three,mainly from the two dimensions of personal and social,discusses the deep meaning behind the relationship between the human and city.In the city and people’s story,on the one hand,he through the city life,explores the silent majority in the city’s living circumstances,the spirit world,generation pain and joy of life,ideal and disillusionment,record their rethinks.On the other hand,through the characters of its tentacles,the author arrives in a remote overlooked corner of city,reflects on rough urbanization process,shows affectionate memories to the fading rural civilization.
