A Study On The Guarantee Words In Modern Chinese Under Modality Category

The Guarantee words in Modern Chinese have two kinds of uses.This paper from the synchronic and diachronic perspective,description and analysis on modal verbs in the context of that attribute pragmatic functions,semantic properties and syntactic level,evolution path and evolution mechanism of mining such words from the diachronic perspective.This paper is divided into five parts.The first chapter details the purpose and significance of the research.This part also analyses the current situation and existing problems.Meanwhile,the content,basic research,theoretical methods and corpus source are analyzed.The second chapter investigates the sentence condition,the form of expression,the syntactic structure and the meaning of deontic modality conveyed by the guarantee words.The third chapter makes a detailed investigation of the non warranty usage of the guarantee words from the syntactic,semantic and pragmatic perspectives.Which words are used in "non guarantee",it said the speaker about the proposition or event must know or necessity that belongs to the epistemic category,with information,highlighting the focus and emphasis function,and obtain the characteristics of the new category of adverbs.The fourth chapter examines the evolution path and evolution mechanism of these words from diachronic perspective.The meaning of "bear children" "bao(保)" through the different evolution mechanism of verbal behavior has effect of derivative usage of "bao(保)" and "bao(包)" to further grammaticalization as epistemic components,namely "positive understanding and judgment",after the process of Chinese double syllable words into compound words and the speech act verbs and epistemic adverbs.There are syntactic and semantic conditions that guarantee the grammaticalization of lexical terms,and the production mechanism is pragmatic inference,analogy and re analysis.The last chapter is the conclusion of the innovation and inadequacies.
