Carrying with Chinese traditional culture for thousands of years,countryside-style movies are invested with all the history and future of all the ethnic groups and different regions.As a very unique Chinese movies genre,it's not only the way that allow city dwellers to know the countryside,but also serves as a window that allow the world to know China itself.That's why this countryside-style movies play a very important role in the history of Chinese movies.Especially in the new century when the city and the countryside are combined and with the establishment of New Countryside,the countryside is changing dramatically.And people are starting to rethink living situation of themselves and seek the lost field of spirit.In the meanwhile,the countryside is becoming a paradise that everyone wants to live in.They desire to find the peace and comfort in this place.However,this countryside-style movie genre is not as good as people think it can be in the new century.In this background,it is a question that we should think thoroughly that how the countryside-style movie should confront this pressure and challenge.And this thesis mainly studies the countryside-style movie in mainland China in this new century.Firstly,the thesis studies whether a countryside-style with vague concept can be listed in the research of Countryside-style Movie in New Century,distinguishing two concepts that can easily be confused— rural-style movie and countryside-style movie,then carefully sort out the history of countryside-style movie development.Then the thesis analyzes the traditional aesthetic elements in Chinese countryside-style through perspectives of the artistic mood of scene,the meaning of the subject matter,custom and tradition and local culture.Then we make a conclusion that how the countryside-style movies change its narrative subject and create the revolution of way that people film.And last,we analyze the reason why the countryside-style movie has developed so many characteristics and shrink at the same time with somevideos,and try to provide some benificial thinking and references for the countryside-style movie in the future.Although this movie genre has some trouble in development,we still believe that the countryside-style movie will have its own territory in the multicultural world in the future,and show its own value and charm to the people.In the exchange of different culture,it can convey its unique culture ethos and even write a more glorious chapter.The main purpose of this thesis is to inspire people to study this kind of movie genre with some humble opinions in order to benefit the creation of countryside-style movie.
