Discussion On The Achievments Made By The Knights Hospitaller On Malta Island During 15^th To 17^th Century

The Knights Hospitaller was one of the three most famous medieval catholic military orders,it’s full name is The Order of Knights of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem,also known as Order of Saint John,Order of Hospitallers,Knights Hospitaller,or Hospitallers.After the fall of the Kingdom of Jerusalem in 1291,Hospitallers lost their basement in the Holy Land.Afterwords they sought new headquarters in the Kingdom of Cyprus and Rodes island,but they were all fallen.In the year 1530,the knights finally gained fixed quarters by Charles of Spain,emperor of Holy Rome and King of Sicily,Carles gave them the islands of Malta.For the West,Hospitallers was a very important military force against the invision of Ottomans.During their time on Malta,the Hospitallers continued their actions against the Muslims and built Malta as a sheld of the civilization of the West.By the victories made in the Siege of Malta and the Battle of Lepanto,the Hospitallers finally made a strong rule on the islands.The Hospitallers stayed on Malta for more than 200 years.The knights didn’t just built the islands as a stronghold but also helped the Maltese to developed their economy situation.They many hospitals been built on the islands,and the knights also gave the Malta a new capital city Valletta,which still the capital of the modern Republic of Malta.The Hospitaller’s stronghold of Malta was captured by French in the 18’s,they lost their basement again.After that they moved to many palaces,and settled in Rome by the end.it is now called Sovereign Military Order of Malta,observer status at the United Nations.Now the knights fight no enemies,they dedicated to the care of thepoor,the sick,the elderly,the disabled,the homeliss,terminal patients,lepers,and those all who suffer.They especially involved in helping victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters by providing medical assistance,caring for refugees,and distributing medicines and basic equipment for survival.The spirits of the Orders and the Knights are still making a important role in today.
