With the further opening-up of China's economy and the development of international cooperation,China,with its relatively low cost of labor,has been the destination of international enterprises to set up factories and seek original equipment manufacturers.It is the common practice of foreign companies to have third-party inspection on possible cooperation partners and the existing ones,to ensure the fine quality of products.Liaison interpreting for such inspection would promote Chinese-foreign parties' economic cooperation and strengthen their exchange.This report takes the writer's liaison interpreting task of a third-party factory inspection for DICKIES as main materials.Typical cases are selected and analyzed.Most importantly,thinking and discussion are made on the subjectivity of interpreters and the nature and essence of interpreting.Four chapters are included: interpreting task introduction;interpreting procedure description;typical interpreting cases analysis—tried to reflect on the task,the nature of interpreting and the subjectivity of liaison interpreters;interpreting task conclusion—concludes the report,makes expectations.The writer draws conclusion as follows: Language and culture are the fundamental basis for interpreting;Communication is the essence and core of interpreting;Existence of liaison interpreter's subjectivity is a fact and a must.It is safe to say that liaison interpreting normally are familiar tasks for MTI students and even other employed interpreters.It is hoped that with this report,the writer's shortages could be spotted and further analyzed.It is also the writer's humble wish to provide a little bit of reference which may be meaningful however slightly for relevant personnel.
