With the development of disciplines, western subject knowledge is introduced to China increasingly, followed by the booming of the translation of English academic works. One of the most critical issues is the translation of terms, which is directly related to the correctness of the subject theory. The study of semiotics, originated in the West, has been booming in recent years and applied to the study of heritage tourism as a new perspective. The studies of heritage tourism and the semiotics in China are emerging fields, and the combination of the two is quite creative.Chinese scholars have made some progress in the research in semiotics and tourism, which provides theoretical support for this practice report. However, the new terms arising from the development and integration of disciplines, and the terms that have not yet been determined to one translation are still to be discussed. The author translates the first three chapters of The Semiotics of Heritage Tourism, almost 30,000 words, with an aim to introduce western academic achievements and enrich the practice of term translation.Based on the existing translation results and skills, terms are divided into three categories, that is,basic terms,non-academic terms, and terms with multi-versions;according to different textual features and functions for each type of terminology puts forward the corresponding methods of changing parts of speech, amplification, fait accompli, creating, imitating and sequential translation for future reference.
