Aesthetic Analysis On Xu Bing's Works

Bing Xu is one of the most influential artists in contemporary China.His works present great aesthetic value and mirrors socio-cultural and humane issues,which are worthy of study.The introduction part mainly explains the reasons why we choose the topic,reviews the studies upon this topic both at home and abroad,pictures the basic ideas and framework of this paper,and expound the aims and meaning of this study.Chapter 1 discusses the basic types(a.wood block and writing;b.Textual restructuring and deconstruction;c.explicit aspect and implicit aspect metaphor device)of Xu creation on one hand,and analyzes three periods of Xu's creating(a.inheritance and development of printing art and wood block;b.the combination of media and text;c.the fusion of pictographic sketches and reality enjoyable.)on the other.Chapter 2 conducts an aesthetic analysis on the content of Xu's works.Firstly,the present paper presents the features of its artistic images through the image shaping,image's deformation and it's thorough association with society in his works.Moreover,it shows his works' depiction on memory and dreams and their interactivity.Finally,it explores main factors influencing Xu's works along three dimensions:Avant-garde Art,Zen thoughts,modern and postmodern ideas.Chapter 3 makes an aesthetic analysis on the form of Xu's works.Firstly,the artistic features of line,color,light and image modeling and composition,and application of art skills are presented.Secondly,it unveils Xu's artistic skill's progress in his reinvent and use of waste,collecting of life fragments,and deforming of literal symbol.Finally,a comparative analyze on the techniques differences between Xu and other artists of the same style is produced.The conclusion part made a brief summarize on the main claims of this paper,and proposed outlooks on future study on Xu's creating.
