A Report On The E-C Translation Of New Writing From Ireland,2015

New Writing from Ireland is a literary brochure published by ILE on a yearly basis.The organization publishes the brochure yearly to introduce and promote the newly-printed good works and bestsellers in the year.The thesis chooses New Writing from Ireland published in 2015 as the original translation material,and the Chinese translation as research subject.It takes the text typology as guidance,by analyzing its textual content and features,summarizes the text type and text function of the brochure,which is informative text combined with operative text that gives the brochure informative function and operative function.So in the purpose of making the translation have the function and effect of its original,corresponding methods and strategies should be adopted in translating.Since the introduction to the work belongs to operative text and with characteristics of informative text,in translating this part,not only should the translation has logicality and referentiality,it also has to be operative and persuasive to readers,so the author adopts methods such as compiling,literal translation,free translation,additional translation,adaption combined with literal translation.The introduction to the author of the brochure mainly consists of information text and operative text,so methods such as transliteration and literal translation are more used in translating.The author really hopes to provide reference for the future Irish literary translation with this project,and to do my small contribution to the China-Ireland literary communication.
