The digital display of cultural relics is the essential part of cultural relic's protection and sustainable development,and the digital models of cultural relics have large amount of data,which determine the difficulty of real-time display.So,it is important to study how to guarantee desired effect of digital display under limited hardware conditions,which is studied in this paper.In the real-time display of digital model with big amount of data,there are two main factors that influence the effect,one is the loading efficiency,and the other is the rendering efficiency.This paper studies the research status on the three-dimensional display technologies at home and abroad,and analyzes the advantages and limitations of these technologies.Drawing the excellent achievements of previous researches,this paper takes the partial display as the breakthrough point and introduces a hardware-adaptive model display method based on local rendering to deal with the digital display of cultural relics.The detail research works of this paper are as follows:1.To deal with the current situation that load and analysis of large data model take a long time and all the data of model need to be loaded before rendering,this paper studies the block storage technology of model data based on the relational database to support the bock-based load of data in model rendering.And compared with the traditional way of loading all the data for rendering,the results show that the method can significantly reduce the waiting time during display.2.In view of the situation that current 3D real-time display technologies have some shortages such as high computational complexity,high hardware dependence and loss of details because of model simplification,the method of local rendering of 3D model based on the block model is studied.The method reduces the amount of model data in rendering through local rendering rather than model simplification,which ensures the high quality and smooth presentation of the details during display.And the method allows users customize the display area by manually selecting a block to load or revoke.The experimental results show that this method can achieve more detailed display on PC than conventional LOD technology.3.Aiming at the inconvenience of manual selection of model block and the limitations of local display,a hardware adaptive model display scheme based on local renderiag is presented.This paper studies the view-dependent matching algorithm to define the display priority of model blocks under given view angle,so it is feasible to select the appropriate number of block data based on display angle and hardware condition for adaptive local display.At the same time,it integrates LOD technology to simplify the model so that we can display the whole simplified model when the model is scaled to a certain threshold.Experimental results show that this method can optimize the display effect of complex digital model on PC.
