Being an essential fundamental in the expression and dissemination of information,the symbols link a practical sign with the meaning specify expressed,presented this relation to our consciousness.The political symbols produce when the sign applied to the political sphere and turn to an important vehicle in political life.Political symbols involving the contents of national,ethnic,class,Ideology and so on,are closely related to the redistribution of social values and its historical traditions.Political symbols carry the specific political information and political significance.It also plays a very important and unique role in the formation of the political identity,the national identity and the construction of the state machine.After the First World War,the territory of Iraq tends to be stable,the rise of nationalism spread,independence movement further development.The modern nation state of Iraq gradually formed after the evolution of the monarchy,republic.The previous official government devise a series of political symbols to define the nature of the modern state of Iraq,integrate the new national identity and sense of belonging.Among them,the most representative stage is in the period of the Iraq's Baath party,to Saddam Hussein's Revival of Socialism as the guide in the modern nation-state construction.Under the slogan of "unity,freedom and socialism",Iraq's Baath party according to the particular national conditions,actively promote the archaeological and Museum,folk songs and historical research career development,vigorously promote the Iraq's ancient civilization and so on;at the same time,the implementation of one party politics,secularism and other policies actively contributed to the national identity and ethnic identity.All cause a far-reaching influence in Iraq's modern nation state building.
