A Practice Report On The C-E Translation Of Beautiful Jilin

This report is about the translation of the book of Beautiful Jilin that the author's introduction includes the situation of Jilin Province,economic development,historical changes and so on,aiming to discuss the problems the translator encountered in the translation process and the solutions.Based on Skopos Theory presented by German translator Hans Vermeer,the translation materials of the report are translated under the guidance of Skops Principle.The author elaborates various problems and the corresponding solutions encountered in translation and summarizes it after analyzing the text structure,stylistic and semantic,thus finding the corresponding problem solving methods and strategies with the hope of providing some reference for other translators.In the process of translation,there are many problems and difficulties,such as the translation of four character idioms,the translation of long sentences,and how to reproduce the language features and style of the target language.Searching cultural backgrounds and referring to established terms are adopted for translation of the Chinese specific terms;for translation of long sentences,use of prepositions,omission and restructuring are adopted;for reproduction of the target language style,literal Translation and free translation are used to reproduce the style.The report will give other translators certain reference.And the situation of Jilin will be better known to the world as well.
