Tibetan Version Aryasura's Jatakamala

Jatakamala is one of the unique literary creation in the Indian literature history.As Buddhism spread through the continental widely and be come the most influential religion for a long time,the Thirty Four Previous Life Stories of Buddha were translated by the Tibetan scholars during the Tibetan imperial curt.Tibetan ancient catalogues like Phang Thang Ma and Lhan Dkar Ma,listed Buddha's life story literature which we also can find in Kangyur and Tengyur cannon.Those stories mainly talk about Buddha Shakyamuni's Previous lives and reincarnations appeared with wisdom and compassion for humamkind.The stories far more then that,it emphasis ecological problem,disasters,suffers from the human nature,etc.In conclusion,Tibetan version of Jatakamala has many different sects and different statue according to transmission lineages.The translating style is one of the unique works in Tibetan translation history.In this paper,I mainly discuss about how jatakamala is passing through Tibet and how Tibetan scholars commentate the stories.
