The purpose of this paper is to compare the theory of image theory and "xingxiang"theory in Tang and Song dynasties, and to analyze the process of analysis of image theory and "xingxiang" theory and its development in the Tang and Song dynasties. The biggest purpose is to sum up the "image" and "Xingxiang" Similarities and Differences of Aesthetic Connotations.The first part of this paper begins with the interpretation of "Xiang", which mainly discusses the process of image theory and "Xingxiang" theory from brewing stage to proposing and evolving to the Tang and Song dynasties. Summed up the representatives of the various periods and two categories of connotation of the changes. This paper analyzes the original meaning of "Xing" from the perspective of source theory, and summarizes some common connotations of "Xing", and paves the way for the analysis of Yin Xing 's"Xingxiang".The second part of the writing image theory and the theory of "Xingxiang" in the Tang and Song Dynasties. Respectively, listed Wang Changling, Jiao Ran, Sikong Tu and other Tang Dynasty famous poetist point of view, to clarify the image theory and"Xingxiang" theory in the development of the Tang Dynasty context. The Song Dynasty less talk about "image", "Xingxiang",I also made a corresponding comb,to explore the Song Dynasty when the two complement and development. Through this part, it clarifies the establishment and development of the theory of image and the theory of "Xingxiang"in the Tang and Song dynasties, and the epistemological role in the Chinese poetics. It is not difficult to see that "image" and "Xingxiang" are often mentioned and even mixed at the same time, and the laying way and aesthetic characteristics of the two are discussed.On the basis of the first two parts, the author compares the "image" and "Xingxiang"from the aspect of germination and aesthetic features, and sums up the three aesthetic characteristics of'image" :holistic, ambiguous, concise. "Xingxiang" aesthetic characteristics:hidden show, super elephant, natural.The fourth part discusses the inheritance and development of the image theory and"Xingxiang"theory in the later period of the Tang and Song dynasties.The conclusion part is based on that "Xingxiang" come from "image", and become the bridge of "image" and the "Yijing".
