The Study On Second Person Subject Of Imperative Sentence In Modern Chinese

This article will start from the subjects system of the imperatives,including the markedness of the subjects system,the relationship of the subjects system and the auxiliary verbs/negative verbs,the illocutionary force and the level of emotional expression.This thesis aims to second person pronouns from the typical imperatives and strives to study them from many different aspects.Chapter one mainly introduces the detailed study of imperatives and the subjects of imperatives,and then finds the other aspects to make a further study.The second and third chapter focus on the research from two aspects: internal and external,the second person pronouns acting as the subjects of imperatives,there are some different problems to study such as the presence and absence of the person ponouns.The special contexts,types of writing and the functions of imperatives will provide some different situations for the uses of these person pronouns.And the literary works and scripts are very important and necessary to this thesis.The fourth chapter mainly conducts the second person pronouns "Ni" and "Ni men " as well as the respecting form “Nin”.When these three person pronouns are used in imperatives,they will be added some other different using.By analyzing the data,we can find that the special contexts plays an important role in influencing the functions of those three person pronouns.And that is to say,the targets of those three person pronouns will be uncertain in different contexts.The fifth chapter is a conclusion,and mainly reviewed the main poinst of the previous chapters and then points out the deficiencies of this article.
