A Contrastive Study Of Vocabulary In HSK Test Papers And HSK Outline

The new HSK launched by the Hanban since 2009,has gone through eight years.It has made major adjustments in terms of examination grade and test questions structure in order to adapt to the new situation of international communication in Chinese.Over the past eight years,the number of candidates have continued to increase and the scale of examination has also expanded.Vocabulary is one of the three elements of language,and also the object new HSK focus on.It is very helpful to test and perfect the new HSK through the comparative study of the lexical outline of it,and the actual words of the examination.In this paper,the vocabulary of new HSK grade one to six of a total of thirty sets as a research object,through word frequency statistics and comparative analysis and other methods to study the use of vocabulary at all levels,the specific analysis of the core high frequency words,low frequency words,words beyond the outline and other use of the situation.Through the study it was found that the situation of vocabulary use of different grades are very different.the consistency between the actual words of the examination and the vocabulary outline for grade one to four is better than grade five and six.There are some vocabulary use problems in grade five and six examinations.vocabulary utilization rate is too low,outline vocabulary in the paper coverage is low and the number of words beyond the outline are large.At the same time,we could also find that it is not reasonable about the standard,grade settings and vocabulary included in the lexical outline.Finally,combined with the above analysis of the problem,the author proposed some amendments about the use of vocabulary atall levels and the vocabulary outline,hoping it would be helpful for the improvement and the perfection of new HSK.
