A Report On The Translation Of Mongolian Songs

The paper is a song translation report.Mongolian songs are an important component in Chinese culture and play an very important role in the prairie culture.They show the sincere emotions and enthusiastic and generous character of the prairie people.The song translation can spread Chinese culture and makes foreigners know more about Mongolian culture.The author collected 100 Mongolian songs which have Chinese lyrics and translated them into English.The paper chooses some songs as examples to summarize this translation process and explores the suitable translation methods for song translation.This article consists of four parts.Part one is the introduction of translation task,mainly introducing the background of the task,the nature of the text and the translation requirements.Part two is the description of the translation process,describing the preparation and process of translation in detail.Part three is the analysis of translation cases.In this part,the author mainly introduces Skopos Theory and the characteristics of Mongolian songs and uses the theory and many different translation methods to solute the translation of phrases,rhetoric and sentences in songs.The last part summarizes the questions of this translation practice and tells some inspirations for future translation work.
