Practice Report On Interpreting For 2016 China Wind Power Conference

This thesis is a report on an interpreting practice about 2016 China Wind Power Conference. Nowadays, people in the world expect a way of generating power in green desirably. Wind power just meets this requirement. We are home of offshore wind resource, so offshore wind power has become the key point to be researched. Therefore, a series of offshore wind power technologies have been put forward. I served as an interpreter in 2016 China Wind Power Conference. The translated materials mainly include the operation and maintenance of wind power, the blades and frontier technologies of wind power. This thesis is written on the basis of the interpreting practice on 2016 China Wind Power Conference. In this report, some representative sentences I have met in the process of interpreting practice will be analyzed by applying translation strategies of omission, addition, conversion and syntactic linearity.This practice report consists of four chapters. The first chapter mainly introduces the background of this interpreting practice, including background of this task, requirements of company and the task character. The second chapter is comprised of two parts, which are the preparation and process of the interpreting practice. The third chapter is the most important one. I will show some analyses with translation strategies of omission, addition, conversion and syntactic linearity I used in the process of this interpreting practice. The last chapter is the summary of this thesis. This practice report summarizes the problems I have met and the strategies applied in the process of interpreting. I hope this report can be helpful to other interpreters.
