A Study On Xi Jinping’s Thoughts About Cultural Diplomacy

Chinese outstanding traditional culture is one of the important sources of governing concepts since 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China from President Xi Jinping.Xi Jinping has repeatedly stressed that the historical influence and the important significance of traditional Chinese culture,and given a new era connotation.The powerful and prosperous country and nation always depend on flourishing culture.Chinese dream will be not realization without inheritance and development of civilization and without development and prosperity of culture.Globalization is a basic feature and development trend of the world today,and therefore global thinking has gradually become an important parameter to measure the maturity of the world’s countries.With the continuous improvement of cultural diplomacy in international competition and cooperation and the status of the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation,research on Chinese cultural diplomacy under the background of globalization has become a new academic subject which needs to be carried out urgently.China is in the realization of critical moment for comprehensive rejuvenation,how to carry out cultural diplomacy to counter unprovoked attack from Western countries,and how to make full use of cultural diplomacy to construct an honest,trustworthy and responsible country image in order to serve the all-round rejuvenation of China have become the matter of high concern.It is of great theoretical and practical significances to carry out the research on Chinese cultural diplomacy under the globalization background.On the basis of globalization background,starting from globalization thinking and China concrete and actual situation,this paper discusses the thinking of cultural diplomacy from President Xi Jinping and practice of President Xi Jinping’s China cultural diplomacy since 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in order to strive to China cultural diplomacy in theory research and practice to analyze the thought of President Xi Jinping’s cultural diplomacy.The foreword of the dissertation makes a brief introduction of the selected topic research significance and the scholarly research present situation as well as the scholarly research method.After that there are five major parts launching the elaboration.The first part is the rationale,and it mainly analyzes the connotation and roles of cultural diplomacy.Understanding cultural diplomacy is the premise of elaborating Chinese cultural diplomacy of President Xi Jinping since 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.This section firstly expounds the cultural concept,and elaborates the meaning and form of cultural diplomacy as follow.Nextly it points out that cultural diplomacy has special value which is different from political,economic,military and other diplomacy means.This part mainly includes pure theory.The second part is the background research and connotation study for Chinese cultural diplomacy of President Xi Jinping,and it mainly discusses the necessity and advantage of enhancing Chinese cultural diplomacy by President Xi Jinping since 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.On the one hand,Chinese political culture is facing a huge pressure on cultural conflicts and cultural hegemony,and therefore China wants to establish peacefully international image in the new century and peaceful development as well as maintaining the motherland unification,we have to strengthen the cultural diplomacy positively for performing all the requests;on the other hand,China has a long history,broad and profound cultural tradition and unceasing enhancement of national strength,and all these can provide the conditions for development of Chinese cultural diplomacy.At the same time,in this part,the connotation,the main ideas,the main principles and the key points of Chinese cultural diplomacy of President Xi Jinping are also described.The third and fourth parts are the practice analysis and rational speculation for Chinese cultural diplomacy of President Xi Jinping.Combined with the practice of cultural diplomacy of President Xi Jinping,the dissertation expounds the achievements of Chinese cultural diplomacy,and reflects the shortcomings of Chinese cultural diplomacy.On the one hand,the cultural diplomacy promotes Chinese social and economy development,further it has maintained Chinese national unification and security,and therefore it has built the good atmosphere for creating a good atmosphere for the development of foreign relations,and also it has refuted the anti-Chinese propaganda such as “the Chinese deterrence theory” powerfully.It has portrayed the good image of our country,and promoted the new thinking of cultural diplomacy from Xi Jinping;on the other hand,Chinese cultural diplomacy is not enough in resources mining and innovation of soft power,there are some defects in specific works,so it need further perfect Chinese cultural diplomacy.President Xi Jinping askes us to spread Chinese culture abroad,strengthen international communication capacity and maintain self-confidence in China’s own culture so as to tell good Chinese story and enhance the international discourse right,and by this way,our country can more deeply involve in the international affairs.The fifth part is the conclusion.In order to further develop and strengthen cultural diplomacy,President Xi Jinping has formed a diplomatic point of building and shaping the national culture of our country,and expanded the soft power resources of cultural diplomacy.We will further increase the intensity of cultural diplomacy,enhance the influence and attraction of our culture,and constantly explore new areas,new channels and new forms of cultural exchanges with foreign countries,and advocate multi-level cultural diplomacy.We should pay attention to reference and innovation,strengthen the research of Chinese cultural diplomacy theory.We should vigorously develop the cultural industry,improve Chinese comprehensive national strength and international competitiveness,by this way we can effectively guide the international public opinion towards our goal,and then the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the peace of the world can be achieved.
