Liu Beisi is a writer of Chinese modern literature.He was an editor in Dagongbao from the 1940 s to the 1960 s.After the Cultural Revolution,he was transferred to the Palace Museum.When he worked there,Palace Museum Journalis reopened.And he started the magazine The Forbidden City.He could happily combine edit and write.Heeditedwith a writer's view,so he had his own unique editing style.Meanwhile,he writedwith the editor's view and had unique aesthetic characteristics.This paper tries to make a systematic,overall and comprehensive analysis of Liu Beisi's literary activities.During his literary activities,the author describes each stage of his literary activities,including the period of Southwest Associated University,of Dagongbao and of The Palace Museum.The author tries to focus on his novels,prose-poetry,prose,reportage.In short,the author make an analysis of the differences in the theme,style and technique,then explore their similarities,in order to make a more pertinent comment.In chapter two,three and four,the paper focuses on the characteristics of Liu Beisi's literature,such as the prose-poetry,the fictions and the reportages.In chapter five,the author makes a summary to explore the aesthetic character of literature.Including the intertextuality on the theme and artistic technique,combining of the historical context and the writer's creative psychology and life experience.Then enrich the research about Liu Beisi in Chinese modern literature.
