The translation material is taken from The Journal of College Student Development published in May,2013.This article is entitled “ A Metatheory of Spiritual Formation Through Service-Learning in Higher Education ” written by Marshall Welch,the director of La Salle College in Saint Mary University and Kent Koth,the director of Community Center in Seattle University.This translation report consists of four parts.The first part presents translation task,with a brief introduction of the source of translation materials,the author and the contents of source article.The second part is a summary of translation process,involving preparation for the task as well as difficulties in the process of translation,polishing and finalization.The third part manifests typical case analysis in the process of translation as well as introduces corresponding translation solutions from the perspectives of vocabulary,syntax,discourse and culture,which is the core part of this report.The fourth part summarizes the whole translation practice,including my personal reflection on translation.Through this translation,translator realize that translation theories serve as a strong guide in this practice,generalize the mains tactics in translating theses and also recognize her insufficiency in English and Chinese.
