Research On Aesthetic Subjectivity Of Jin Sheng-tan’s Theatrical Criticism

Jin Sheng-tan is a famous literary critic in the history of Chinese literature and he wrote a lot of works in his life.Scholars did lots of research about him,but few people made a analysis about aesthetic subjectivity of his theatrical criticism.So,this paper aims at making a study of Jin Sheng-tan’s theatrical criticism and trying to probe aesthetic subjectivity.This paper consists of fiveparts.The first part analyzes the forming reasons of Jin sheng-tan’s aesthetic psychology.Jin sheng-tan lived in a particular period and his thoughts must be greatly influenced by the polity and the economy,the philosophy and the literary thought.In addition,his life experience,personality characteristics and his thinking model make a great difference on his aesthetic psychology.The second part analyzes Jin sheng-tan’s aesthetic subjectivity by studying Jin sheng-tan’s theory about “ the recreation”,“ the creation ” and “ the gifted Person ”.The third part is the focus of the article.By reading and re-reading the works,we find that Jin sheng-tan played a active role in his theatrical appreciation.Jin sheng-tan not only evaluated the characters with full of passion,but also had a deep analysis about narrative techniques.The forth part makes a deep analysis about Jin sheng-tan’s distinctive expression.Firstly,we analyze Jin sheng-tan’s intense emotions in his comments and irregular length.Secondly,we study his peculiarity of appealing-to-all and his deep melancholy thoughts.The fifth part mainly reveals the impact on future generations about the aesthetic subjectivity of Jin Sheng-tan’s theatrical criticism.
