A Report Of Interpreting Practice In Hunan Innovative Low Carbon Center

The background of this paper is the First Asia-Pacific Low Carbon Technology Summit which was held in October,2016.This paper is written by the escort interpreter who worked for the Director of India Energy Agency-Harris Kumar Sikri.The author is responsible for Mr.Sikri's staying in Changsha,such as daily activities,attending meetings and outside visits.The thesis takes the whole process of escort interpreting as the object of study,and analyzes typical cases to explore the author's difficulties in interpreting practice and the solutions adopted.The thesis consists of four parts.The first part is the introduction,including the background of this event and the requirements for the practice.The second part is the preparation including summit background,professional knowledge,cultural background of foreign guest and foreign affairs etiquette.The third part is some cases of difficulties during interpreting,which is the core chapter for the whole thesis.The author analyzes the cases from professional terms,Chinese poetry,repetition and accent barrier respectively.In the practice,the author encountered many difficulties and obstacles,so this chapter aims to point out the problem and adopted solutions.The last part is the assessment and summary of this interpreting practice.
