China has greatly enhanced its international position since the reform and opening-up in 1978.It surpassed Japan to become the world's second largest economy in 2010,but many challenges and difficulties arise with the rapid growth of its economy.China's Economy:What Everyone Needs to Know objectively illustrates how China's economy got to where it is today,where it might be headed in the coming years and what China's economic rise means for the rest of the world.The source text is excerpted from the thirteenth chapter of China's Economy:What Everyone Needs to Know.This chapter makes a conclusion of this book,illustrating the author's opinions on the world and China's economy after China rises as a political and economic superpower.The thesis is divided into five parts which include preface,task description,translation process,cases analysis and conclusion.Firstly,literal translation and literal translation with notes are uesed to deals with economic terminologies of the source text.Secondly,reduction and omission methods are adopted to translate the pronoun.What's more,the translating of "one" is stressed.Lastly,the methods of linear and inverse translation and their combination are introduced to reconstruct the long and complex sentence.This thesis is aimed to find out some translation skills which can apply to economic texts translation and offer valuable reference for the translation of similar texts in the future.
