An Analysis On Fan Shoukang's Art And Aesthetics Thought

As one of the founders of China's art and aesthetics theory,Fan Shoukang's art and aesthetics thoughts were wellversed both in Chinese and western learning.And yet the accomplishment of his thoughts on art and aesthetics has not been recognized.This paper selects Fan Shoukang's art and aesthetics thought as the research subject,studies its cultural origin,basic connotation,important characteristic as well as the enlightenment on contemporary art practice.The introduction part introduces the present research status of this topic,sketches the main contents of this paper,as well as its purpose,significance and research methods.The first chapter discusses the main cultural origins of Fan Shoukang 's art and aesthetics thought,.and analyses Fan's absorption of Chinese traditional culture and western aesthetic thoughts.The second chapter analyzes the basic connotation of Fan Shoukang 's art and aesthetics thought.The paper summarizes three basic aspects: art and life;art and humanity;art and liberation.These connotations also include Fan's understanding of art creation,art appreciation and aesthetic education.The third chapter summarizes the significant features of Fan Shoukang 's art and aesthetics thought,focusing on its two prominent aspects which are the advocation of the art aesthetic,and the returning to the true life.The fourth chapter discusses the enlightenment of Fan's art and aesthetic thought on contemporary art practice and art education.
