The Time Construction Of Disaster Memory

This paper mainly selects the Jinanjie formed by Haiyuan Earthquake happened in 1920 as the study object to discuss relevant issues about the time construction of disaster memory.This kind of construction is mainly expressed by festivals and rituals.Based on the generative mechanisms of existing festivals,through literature study and field work,this paper intends to card the process of formation and changes of festivals,and then explores the generative mechanisms of disaster festivals.During the carding,it is found that the formation of Jinanjie is in the absence of the county and it is the result of the interaction between the power of religion and regional culture.In its development,as a Hui people ' s religious festival in Haiyuan,it has experienced vanishment and reconstruction under the influence of national policies;and then in the modern context,it has reshown vitality relying on the internal driving force of religion and the promotion of local cultural elites.Through the study of ritual behaviors and faith psychology of the participants,the paper tries to explore the operation principal of Jinanjie as part of the disaster memory device and then tries to show the different results of time construction under different powers and also the different effects on eliminating painful emotions by comparing it with the modern disaster anniversaries.At last we can find that the owners who have the power can take advantages of time to establish anniversaries and rituals which contain their ideology,and then make the disaster memory to be instilled and strengthened.
