Research On Types Of Themes And Evaluation Of Documentary Value From Finalist Of Competition In Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival,China

Since the State Press and Publication Administration issued "several opinions on promoting the industrial development of the documentary” in 2010,Chinese documentary industry developed rapidly,especially in the number of film,broadcast quality and subject.But due to historical reasons,Chinese documentary has been influenced by the western mainstream documentary criteria for a long time.In a certain period of time,these standards provided a lot of resources and development space for Chinese documentary industry.We should also clearly recognize that because of natural culture and nationality,it seems like “cutting the feet to fit shoes” for Chinese documentary which is evaluated with the standards of the western mainstream documentary.Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival,China the only documentary with investment and financing,trading functions of the national professional Documentary Film Festivals,and also has grown to be Asia’s largest professional documentary festival exhibition in recent years.Evaluation system has been formed during the evaluation of documentary value,the core of which is reflected in the documentary themes.This paper describes during in the past three years(2014-2016)and the final evaluation classification,analysis and research.According to the analysis results of the film selection,this paper summarizes the subject value evaluation standard with Chinese characteristics which is the diversity expression of the mainstream values,the unity of universality and nationality,and the story of national humanistic spirit.In addition,from the perspective of all levels of television,private cultural companies and independent filmmakers,the paper puts forward the suggestions for the development of documentary,Enhancing the diversity of documentary themes and the need for international communication requires strong support and guidance at the national level.which means there is no contradictory between the aesthetics attribute of documentary and the mainstream value,and when we strengthen international perspective,actively participate in international cooperation,we should pay attention to the excavation of national culture and the cultural connotation.
