Zheng Shixu And The Research Of The History Of Sino-foreign Communications

Zheng Shixu was famous in Chinese historical science circle for his research on archaeology,paleography,and the history of Sino-foreign communications in the 1930s and 1940s.He completed a well-rounded book on the history of Sino-foreign communications early and also had monographic studies with considerable achievements at different stages.Besides,he also participated in the debate on Mozi's nationality and led the debate in earlier stage.Moreover,he also used a unique research method by introducing archaeology and linguistics into the studies on the history of Sino-foreign communications.The paper consists of four parts:the first part introduces the research status and significance;the second part describes Zheng Shixu's life and academic footprint;the third part discusses the characteristics of research on the history of Sino-foreign communications in four aspects;the fourth part focuses on the studies on the debate on Mozi's nationality and the history of importing horses.
