This paper tries to exam the development laws of art itself with proper literature research through some masterpieces of Mi Youren,an extraordinary artist of Northern Song Dynasty,and in the context of the social and cultural background of his time to analyze the aesthetic thoughts of his about the art of landscape painting.Combining the aesthetic thoughts of Mi into the context of the Song Dynasty painting,this paper also observes the techniques of the light ink in landscape painting creation as well as the formation and some main traits of his style,and,no less importantly,the use of brush and ink techniques and the role of composition within the construction of artistic conception is to be explored.By carrying out comparisons of works and artists from both his times and other dynasties,efforts are paid to analyze Mi Youren's landscape style inheritance and formation,make clear the significance of bold innovation in the inheritance and innovation of landscape painting and determine the historical status and contribution of Mi Youren in the development of Chinese painting.The main points to be analyzed are:1.The study of the elements that contribute to the formation of Mi Youren's landscape painting style from the perspectives of family learning,painting and calligraphy collection and appreciation and the background of the times.2.The study of Mi Youren's landscape paintings and his ink characteristics.Based on the exact handed down works of Mi Youren,this paper analyzes the artistic characteristics of Mi Youren 's landscape painting from the aspects of brushstroke,ink and artistic conception.3.The study of Mi Youren's landscape art achievements and influence through the analysis of his status in the history of China's landscape paintings and its impact on future generations.
