This thesis reflect the modernistic Nostalgia and the consciousness of ruins by using the aesthetic theory of Dufrenne. First chapter shows the contemporary art's rebel of the modernistic "top speed" and it summed up the state of modernity. Then we would review the nostalgic theories from Rousseau to Heidegger and related activities, pointed out the concept of consciousness to the ruins, and the intersubjective relation. The second chapter will go for the aesthetic theory of Merleau-Ponty and Duffrenne to analyze and explain the concepts of "performance", "body-subject", "quasi-subject" and the aesthetic in the new media Internet virtual reality space. The third chapter introduces the classification of nostalgia in the form of existence:repair type nostalgia and reflective nostalgia. As the sixth generation of Chinese directors, Jia Zhangke's film "/wish/ knew" introduces both repair type nostalgia and reflective nostalgia. Compared with Cai Mingliang's film "Stray dogs", Jia's film inspired the consciousness of ruins to present and to rethink the process of modernity.
