The main body of the thesis be divided into three parts: the first part discusses the formation and development of the eight immortals culture, including the relationship between concept of gods and eight immortals formed, Taoism and eight immortals, eight immortals and decorative patterns. People belief that gods have magic function, and this fairy idea have a major influence on the immortality and remedy ability of eight immortals.
