China has witnessed accordion making its way to prosperity from its introduction as a foreign music instrument,though the process is no so smooth.Accordion,one branch of keyboard majors,is taught and spread in art colleges and higher education normal universities nationwide.Shanxi University represents one of institutions that provide music education in Shanxi Province with 80 ordinary higher schools,and has cultivated and provided over 90% music teachers for music schools in Shanxi.Accordion is also learned and communicated in Shanxi Xinzhou Normal University founded in 1958,and in Shanxi Art Vocational College founded in 1951,which was the first art vocational college with independent organizational system in 2000.In a sense,these three schools is a center for the education and development of accordion in Shanxi province.In recent years,accordion learning is getting cool gradually with more people involved in basic learning and less in advanced study.A study was made to investigate the source of students in Shanxi province and the status of the accordion development in three universities,and analyze the accordion condition in Shanxi.Thus the causes leading to the current status have been summarized and new ideas and proposals put up for future development of accordion art in Shanxi.The research is significant to the study of the accordion art development in the region and plays an enlightening role in localizing other instruments in other parts of China and overseas.Music art should grow in such way as “introduction to proficiency” and taking the cognition of targeted audience into account-the cultural identity.In addition,the art shoud advance in various and versatile forms to make the music more acceptable to the public.The paper includes four parts with part one introducing the status of the accordion development in three universities,investigating the source of students in Shanxi province,and providing sociological viewpoints of the accordion development in Shanxi Province.Part two analyzes the accordion condition in Shanxi and describes the positive and negative effect of the accordion on society in objective way.Part three makes analysis of the progress of accordion in the view of sociology and conducts macro observations of the source of students and learners in Higher schools in Shanxi area,providing the status of accordion and the essence of music social production in music sociology.The final part put up the laws of the development of accordion in Shanxi Province based on the sociological perspective of music and inspires and guides the targeted audience and the accordion subject,laying the foundation for the music to advance in various and versatile forms.The part employs the case study to demonstrate the development of accordion by transverse comparison in various aspects.The evolution of accordion in Shanxi is jointly propelled by accordion art in colleges and universities,public demands,and creative groups,etc.Accordion specialty and learners in three universities and amateur in Shanxi are epitome of the current status of accordion of Shanxi,reflecting the challenges China has to face in the growth of the music.Music art may grow healthly by rule of “introduction to proficiency” and in versatile forms.Besides,the growth of accordion in Shanxi can be healthier and more smooth after the accordion become popular among the public and children.In addition,it is necessary to inspire and guide the targeted audience and make the public have more cultural identity towards accordion,making the accordion art more prosperous in Shanxi and China.
