Humanity Above All, Caters To Everyone's Taste

Since entering the new century,the diverse cultures of the world have gradually formed a pattern,the cultural exchanges between China and the West have become increasingly frequent.Western music has had a strong impact on Chinese traditional music,and Chinese composers have attempted to break traditional barriers and explore new ways for the development of folk music.Liu Wenjin,one of the professional composers of contemporary folk music,whose works possess extremely high artistic aesthetics and distinctive national characteristics,is a paragon of the composition of contemporary folk music,particularly influential and significant for the development of the art of Erhu.The preface of this paper will start by discussing the current state of folk music,as well as briefly analyzing the problems existing at the present stage of the composition of folk music,combining with current affairs to introduce the basic arguments for this paper-musical composition should strive to "put culture above all and suit everyone's taste" in order to truly reflect national characteristics.The main paper is divided into three chapters:Chapter One introduces the composer's life and his Erhu works;Chapter Two elaborates on the composer's creative concepts based on the themes,genres and composition techniques,which can be summarized as having "national characteristics,contemporaneity,innovativeness and humanity";Chapter Three discusses how Liu Wenjin's creative concepts have enlightened and inspired contemporary composers and performers,as well as establishing forward-thinking on how to inherit and develop the art of Erhu.
