Lin County Umbrella Head Yangko And Its Protection And Development

Santou yangko is an important folk artistic form,whose name comes from the umbrella that the leaders hold when singing and dancing.It is a product of social historical development of Linxian County,which is performed in Linxian County and the areas around it,such as Liulin,Lishi and other places,especially prevail in Linxian County.Santou yangko was initially used in sacrifice ceremony,then it develops to a widely spread folk artistic form,combining songs,dances,and musical instruments together.Santou yangko is produced in the long process of the practice of the people in Linxian County,in western part of Shanxi province.Because of the development of history,it gradually become an artistic way to reflect life and express emotion,and it’s a media of the reservation of folk culture that succeeded from the former generations.With the intangible culture heritages are being paid more and more attention,Santou yangko which were not been think highly of is being known by people.Its special artistic and humanistic features make it the top one of the intangible culture heritages.More and more people are willing to study Santou yangko,and also already made some fruits.The writer of this paper reorganize and analysis the artistic features of the Santou yangko on the basis of two years’ investigation of local culture,with meticulous material collection and interview of local people,looking into its development history,music form,performing form,social effects and government protection,and putting forward some suggestions to improve its characters and disadvantages,by analysising the the current condition and future and its future trend of development,come up with some positive suggestions.
