The objects of this study are a group of small and medium-sized tombs of Qin ? found in Weiyu ??,Huayin ?? County. They are not only the first findings in Huayin, filling the archaeological blank of this area, but also enlarge the distribution of Qin tombs in the Guanzhong ?? region,as the easternmost discoveries of Qin Culture in this region. The thesis applies an interdisciplinary methodology on the Qin tombs in question, combining the archaeological typology, archaeological stratigraphy, analysis of cultural factors, and study on archaeological and textual materials.First,it conducts a typological study from the aspects of the tomb structure, burial furniture and style, and the burial objects, and thus comes to a periodization of Weiyu Qin tombs. In this process,a comparison to the previous periodization study of Qin tombs in surrounding areas is applied to figure out the chronology of the Weiyu tombs.Based on a general understanding of the tombs under discussion, this thesis then focuses on the cultural factors and uniqueness of the cemetery through a specific and detailed study, and hence by analyzing the textual materials and examining the historical background, further discusses the reasons for the formation of the factors and features detected in this cemetery. At the same time, the thesis involves several important aspects of the social transformation during the period at issue reflected by the burial objects of Weiyu tombs. In the end, this research reveals that wars and social transformations led to the relative diversity and complexity of the population of Weiyu Qin tombs, and the preliminary social organization was increasingly based on geographical links.Meanwhile,a series of conversions in the spiritual scope, including the attitude towards the ancestors and the deceased and the funeral concepts, can be detected from changes of the burial objects. There is an obvious transformation from "revering the gods" to "making offerings to the ghosts" and from "ritual" to "popular",and at the same time an "adaptable" way of thinking emerged, distinctly featuring the historical period under this discussion. All these changesindicatethe establishment of a new political and cultural order, value system and thinking method in this period.
