This paper tries to study and compare the south of process between the two art fields of the paiting study and Kun opera in the late Ming dynasty,to explore the common literary concept behind the change,reflecting the change of social environment and the demand of thought and culture.The southern literati painting and Kun opera are the new representatives of literature and art in the late Ming dynasty.These two forms of art are based on the exquisite and elegant cultural charmofJiangnan,continuing to absorb the deep absorption of traditional ideology,into the classical style of the central plains and the north,three constitute the southern terrain culture thought and aesthetic essence.In the end of the Ming dynasty,painting study and Kun opera have fresh vitality,the literati adhere to the mission of history,and meet the real needs of the times,actively establish theoretical system with vivid form,to maintain legitimate status.The creators and critics of painting study and Kun opera in the late Ming dynasty are mainly concentrated in Jiangnan and surrounding areas,many of them areinvolved in two kinds of art activities at the same time.They complement each other by using the nutrients of painting study and Kun opera to explore the common cultural pursuit.Thesouthernterrain culturewashow to absorb ancient cultureat that time,which has profound enlightenment on how to inherit and carry forward the traditional cultural essence.
