A Study On The Tingqintu

Song Dynasty is a highly developed period of material and spiritual culture in Chinese history.The ruler's national policy of paying more attention of literature than martial arts has greatly improved the status of the literati,and the status of literati has great reached the highest level among any previous dynasty.In the Song Dynasty when the literati are strong,a variety of aesthetic arts have developed together.In painting,the Nine Emperors of the Northern Song Dynasty are almost all experts,and the art of painting has also developed rapidly due to the direct participation of the rulers.Overall,the Song Dynasty is a prosperous period of aesthetic culture,the aesthetic level of literati is pretty high from literati courtiers to the royalties.Tingqintu is said to be the great pieces of palace painting of Huizong Emperor of Northern Song Dynasty.The Literati's joining the painting academy and the rise of literati painting affected palace painting a lot.The influence is reflected in the changes of painting styles and painting objects.This thesis will sort out the existing research on Tingqintu,and then from the picture itself,by extending the meaning of the picture,combines picture and Song Dynasty culture,to reveal the implied ideas in the picture,explore the relationship between the picture and the Song literati.
