Music Is Created By The People

Mikhail Ivanovitch Glinka,the father of Russian music,produced many works of high artistic value,which involved in different areas of opera,orchestral music,chamber music,romantic song,etc.Glinka created more than 80 romantic songs,which were the important component of his music-writing career.His romantic songs,which were famous for their unique national character and distinctive democratic tradition,ingeniously combined with poetry and absorbed the world advanced composing skills.These works,which were rich in musical expression,had beautiful melodies,different contents,a wide range of topics and variety of expression techniques.This dissertation is titled on "Music is created by the people"—the study of Glinka's romantic songs and systematically discusses the development of Russian romantic songs,the creation period and creative characteristics of Glinka's romantic songs,the representative romantic works and their significance of learning,the historical contribution of Glinka and the inspiration of Glinka's creation to the development of Chinese music,etc,in order to provide a reference for singing,teaching and studying these romantic songs.At the same time,I hope this thesis could contribute to the study of Glinka's romantic songs and the creation of Chinese national music.
